Gorgeous Carved and Caned Louis XVI Style Bed

This gorgeous bed is brimming with detail. The frame has beautiful carvings as seen in the intricate patterns throughout the frame. Lovely Floral and Ribbon festoon on the foot end of the bed, the detail has been highlighted beautifully by the Sage Green wash. Lovely ribbon and floral crest sit atop the head end. Classic fluting on the feet of both head and foot. The cane has a lovely tone to it, with some of the original gild finish peeping through the darker tones. Some small repairs. The frame has been carefully cleaned and waxed to preserve the paint finish. Professionally restored to be sturdy and practical. The side rails have been strengthened and adapted to support modern king size mattress. Suitable for mattress size 5' x 6'6" or could fit European 160 x 300cm Price includes wood slats (Sorry not mattress). As an alternative to the wood slats we can supply a 2” or 4” deep upholstered bed base – Bed photographed on 2” bed base. We can also supply hand-made mattresses in all comfort choices.
