Kingsize antique white bedstead early Victorian

1880s Iron kingsize bedstead with tapered posts featuring original porceline knobs and brass detail. Exquisite intricate central iron "lace"detail. This bed was made by Winfield in London. The finish is a handpainted cream the texture of which befits a bed of this age. The height of the bed is ideal for a room with lower ceilings. We supply a range of handmade mattresses to suit should one be required.

Most of these brass and iron antique beds were made in the second half of the 19th century and originate from England and Western Europe.
Brass and iron beds became very popular from around 1840 and vary from simple ironwork to intricate combinations of iron and brass, porcelain and hand painted finishes.
